Biography

Dr. Syed Muzammil Abbas Rizvi is a transportation engineering researcher and academic with expertise in traffic engineering, urban mobility, transportation planning, and data-driven traffic management systems. He earned his Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany, where his research focused on Macroscopic Fundamental Diagram (MFD) estimation for urban road networks. Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed his Master's in Transportation Engineering from Southeast University, China, and his Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. His research interests include traffic flow modeling, intelligent transportation systems, traffic incident detection, mobility analytics, and sustainable urban transportation. Dr. Rizvi has published several research articles in leading international transportation journals and has presented his work at renowned conferences including World Congress on Transportation Research (WCTR), EURO Working Group of Transportation (EWGT), and Transportation Research Part C (TRC). He is proficient in advanced analytical and modeling tools such as Python, MATLAB, R, GIS, and MongoDB. Currently, he serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at NED University, where he teaches transportation engineering courses and supervises undergraduate research projects.
