Honourable mentions at an international design challenge, “Net Zero Energy House”
Two teams with members from the Civil Engineering Department have received honourable mentions at an international design challenge, “Net Zero Energy House”, organised by SPRET (Sustainable Pathways for Renewable Energy Transition), a consortium of renowned institutions including the Royal Academy of Engineering and Cardiff University. Interdisciplinary teams of architecture and civil engineering students underwent training with international experts through virtual workshops in April-May 2022 and thereafter collaborated to design a G+1 residential unit which would have minimal environmental impact and would promote a sustainable lifestyle for middle income households.
Submissions in the form of a report and concept video were evaluated and results released on 31st August 2022. The civil engineering students and alumni in the teams were:
Team 8: Anas (Batch 2019), Azhan (Batch 2019)
Team 22: Alyina Rizwan Hashmi (Batch 2018), Muhammad Khizar Hassan (Batch 2019), Gul e Noor Khalid (Batch 2019) and Syeda Narmeen Zehra (Batch 2017)
