Dr. Haider Hasan

Associate Professor

Biography

Haider Hasan has contributed to the design and improvement of teaching curricula at NED University of Engineering & Technology. His research focuses on tsunami modelling and nearshore coastal hydrodynamics, with particular emphasis on simulating complex processes such as inundation and wave dynamics. He has worked with international collaborators to investigate the 1945 Makran tsunami, including visits to the University of Washington for data acquisition and modelling tools. In addition, he has contributed to UNESCO and UNESCAP projects aimed at improving tsunami hazard assessment, producing inundation and evacuation maps, and enhancing community resilience in Pakistan.
